New IHS Housing Could Finally Break the Staffing Shortage Cycle in Indian Country
The IHS FY 2026 Staff Quarters Construction Program funds new provider housing at remote Indian Health Service facilities where a 25 percent clinical vacancy rate has limited access to care for Native populations. Proposals are due March 31, 2026.
