Good healthcare staffing in Montana starts with knowing the people a clinician will serve, the facility they will walk into on day one, and how to deliver qualified professionals when the need is real.
Ellsworth is a Navajo-Owned Staffing Partner Built for Indian Country
For federal contracting officers, Tribal health administrators, and rural healthcare leaders, a dependable staffing partner brings documented performance, real recruiting reach, and a true understanding of Indian Country.
Ellsworth, LLC is a 100% Navajo-owned, ISBEE-certified healthcare staffing company serving the Indian Health Service, Tribal and 638 health organizations, and rural facilities.
With a growing portfolio of federal contracts, established recruiting partnerships, and favorable federal performance evaluations, we are ready to support workforce needs across Billings, Montana, Wyoming, and the Northern Plains.
Every Montana Community Has its Own Healthcare Needs
The Indian Health Service Billings Area serves American Indian and Alaska Native communities across Montana and Wyoming through IHS-operated facilities, Tribally operated health programs, and Urban Indian organizations, and its Montana service units include Blackfeet, Crow, Fort Belknap, Fort Peck, and Northern Cheyenne.
No two are alike.
Blackfeet Community Hospital in Browning and the Heart Butte Health Station face different clinical and geographic demands than Fort Peck’s facilities in Poplar and Wolf Point, and at Fort Belknap the IHS and Tribal programs share the work of care.
A clinician who thrives in a city hospital may need real preparation for a remote Tribal assignment. So we ask practical questions before recommending anyone. Who covers nights? Where do referrals go? What credentials does the facility require? Who supervises new clinicians, and how will this person fit into a team that already knows its patients?
Our Federal Contract History is Public and Growing
Ellsworth has supported IHS nursing at Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility in Arizona and Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, New Mexico, covering inpatient, emergency department, pediatric, and other clinical needs for the Native populations those facilities serve.
One publicly documented example is our $1,843,200 Indian Health Service contract supporting nursing services at Chinle. Our October 2026 capability statement reports roughly $10.6 million in federal contract awards across 91 contract transactions. For acquisition personnel, that history offers solid evidence to weigh on staffing capability, contract administration, and performance on similar requirements.
Contracting officers can review our public federal award history on USAspending.gov at any time.
“Very Good” CPARS Evaluations and Past Performance for Ellsworth
The Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System, known as CPARS, is how federal agencies record contractor performance and inform future awards. Ellsworth has received a good “handful” of CPARS evaluation documents from the Indian Health Service, including interim and final assessments tied to nursing services at Chinle and Northern Navajo Medical Center and federal service requirements at Pinon Health Center.
Those evaluations include Very Good ratings in quality, schedule, management, cost control, and regulatory compliance, with positive recommendations for similar future requirements, while others document Satisfactory performance across applicable categories.
We are proud of that record!
Authorized acquisition personnel can review the evaluations directly in CPARS, and we are happy to share past-performance documentation and contract references on request.
National Recruiting Partnerships Reach Rural Facilities
Finding qualified clinicians who are available and willing to work outside major cities is one of the hardest problems rural facilities face.
Ellsworth pairs our Native-owned leadership with an award winning national recruiting team to support candidate sourcing and coordination across disciplines.
We recruit physicians, family medicine providers, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, emergency and ICU nurses, surgical professionals, behavioral health specialists, pharmacists, diagnostic personnel, and allied health professionals.
For each opportunity, we confirm availability, licensure, credentials, required screenings, scheduling, and facility approval. We look past the job title to find a clinician who meets the facility’s qualifications, understands the assignment, and is ready to join the existing care team.
That is the responsiveness of a Native owned small business, backed by the reach a hard-to-fill requirement demands.
How We Show Up to Serve Indian Country
Ellsworth is led by Navajo leadership with personal and professional roots in Indian Country – Born in Tuba City and grew up in Ganado Arizona – and the company was founded to support Native communities through healthcare staffing, workforce development, and economic opportunity.
Every Tribal Nation holds its own authority, traditions, health priorities, and cultural practices, so we listen to local leadership and follow each facility’s guidance.
Our recruiting emphasizes culture awareness, culturally competent communication, respect for elders, patient confidentiality, and care in how clinicians interact with patients and families.
We actively recruit Native practitioners and regional candidates who want to serve their own Indigenous communities, and we hire locally whenever we can.
Clinicians who know a community tend to stay and serve it well. At Ellsworth, caring for Our Relatives shapes every business decision we make.
Montana Geography is Part of Every Staffing Plan
Long drives, rural housing shortages, winter roads, limited transportation, and specialized coverage needs can decide if a clinician accepts an assignment or finishes it.
Facilities in Browning, Crow Agency, Fort Belknap, Poplar, Wolf Point, and other remote communities need staffing plans built around those realities. We talk through housing, transportation, schedules, facility contacts, and professional support before a clinician’s first shift instead of after arrival.
Credentials get someone in the door, and good preparation keeps them there!
We are also growing our reach to clinicians from Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Idaho, and neighboring states who want to serve Tribal and rural communities.
Regional relationships paired with national resources help us deliver steady clinical coverage and build lasting ties with facilities and the professionals who serve them.
Ellsworth Technical is Training the Next Generation of Healthcare Workers
Filling today’s vacancies has to happen alongside preparing tomorrow’s workforce, which is why we launched Ellsworth Technical, an online career training portal. Learners can train in medical assisting, medical billing and coding, and other healthcare fields.
Cost keeps too many people from starting, especially in rural and reservation communities, so Ellsworth has already provided scholarships and training waivers. Our goal is to connect that training to real jobs in communities where recruiting and keeping local healthcare workers remains a constant struggle.
For Native students, working adults, and career changers across Montana, Wyoming, and the Northern Plains, healthcare can be a lasting career close to home. More of tomorrow’s clinicians in Indian Country should come from the communities they serve.
We Reinvest What We Earn Back Into Indian Country
We believe a successful Native-owned business should give back to the communities it serves. As Ellsworth grows, we plan to direct resources toward scholarships, career training, and reservation-based events and sponsorships that support students, families, and local initiatives.
Housing is one of the biggest obstacles to recruiting for remote assignments, so we are also exploring small, comfortable homes for travel clinicians near rural and reservation facilities. This tiny-home initiative is still in the planning stage, and its future depends on resources, community partnerships, and facility needs. If it moves forward, it could make hard-to-fill assignments more appealing and ease the logistics for incoming clinicians.
Staffing, education, sponsorships, and housing each meet a different need, and together they help build stronger, more sustainable Tribal health systems.
Contracting Officers Work Directly With Ellsworth Leadership
Federal healthcare contracts run on timely communication and accountability, and Ellsworth gives contracting officers, administrators, and facility representatives direct access to company leadership.
Our IHS work has taught us how much it matters to respond quickly, coordinate qualified candidates, and keep communication clear when problems come up. For acquisition personnel, Ellsworth, LLC is a 100% Navajo-owned small business with primary NAICS 561320, Temporary Help Services, CAGE Code 7KBC3, and UEI E84NXMLHLMS5, providing healthcare staffing, medical professional recruitment, and related workforce support backed by Indian Health Service contract experience.
We welcome discussions about upcoming healthcare staffing requirements, eligible Buy Indian procurement opportunities, Tribal health workforce needs, and rural medical recruitment. Contracting officials can also review our October 2026 corporate capability statement.
